Committee Descriptions
The following descriptions are of our standing committees and positions, and show the variety of activities and opportunities that NOECPTA has to offer your child(ren), family and community.

  • Fundraising plans various fundraisers and coordinates the solicitation and gathering of donations for our fundraising events throughout the year. Past activities include March Madness Lucky Lotto, Trike-a-Thon, Guest Bartending, Santa Letters, Dine-to-donates at restaurants like Friendlys, Chuck-E-Cheese and Ruby Tuesdays, and selling Malley's Bars and Wendy's Frosty Cards.

  • Kids’ Resale/Bake Sale committee arranges a fall and a spring resale each year. Members and non-members can purchase a table prior to the sale and sell any children’s items including: clothing, books, toys, miscellaneous baby items, furniture, and maternity clothes. They reserve the building where the resale will be held, handle all money, and registration for table sales. They also organize the floor plan for sellers, help publicize the event, and solicit volunteers to bake for the bake sale.

  • Field Trips committee coordinates children's outings. The committee handles scheduling, sign-ups and collection of fees, if applicable. During the month, activities are scheduled for morning, afternoon and evening times in attempts to best accommodate all of our member families.  Past events include hayrides, Sesame Street Live, Disney On Ice, apple picking, Malleys, bumper bowling and many more.

  • Membership is responsible for collecting membership dues and keeping a current membership directory. They staff the membership table at each general membership meeting, provide a name tag for each member and coordinate the “buddy system” for new members. Membership also coordinates the creation of playgroups for interested members consisting of 4 to 6 children, approximately the same age, based on availability.

  • Community Outreach committee plans service projects in which members and their families can participate. Examples of service projects include park clean-ups and making crafts with local senior citizens. Community Outreach also holds drives to benefit local charities (such as collecting canned goods and Christmas gifts). Community Outreach also coordinates the vision screening program, which includes arranging training sessions and scheduling screening with local preschools. Community Outreach also 'spreads sunshine' by coordinating meals for members who have a birth/adoption, serious illness, or a death in their immediate family. We also coordinate the purchase of gifts for child hospitalizations.

  • Family Parties committee plans parties for members families during the year. Parties typically include activities like crafts and a DJ. Past parties themes include Halloween, Fall Harvest, Holiday Crafts, Snowflake Ball, Easter Bunny Brunch, and Picnic in the Park.

  • Adult Events arranges social gatherings and functions for moms’, dads’, and couples’ throughout the year including the annual May Installation Banquet and Holiday Dinner. Examples of past events include Bring Your Own Craft Night, Diva Night at Artist for a Day, a Bon Fire, and Learn to Crochet. The Adult Events committee also coordinates an annual get-together with current members and Alumni members (past members who have now have children 6+ years old and have 'aged out' to move on to elementary school PTAs).

  • Advertising creates a variety of print and web-based materials for the purpose of making our organization more visible to the community and potential members. Our, offers a comprehensive overview of our organization and provides information about our local community. Upon joining, members are given access to the Member Area, the secure part of the website which contains important up-to-date information regarding our current calendar year, event photos and more!
